Material Summary:
430 Stainless Steel (SS) is a chromium ferrous alloy with excellent chemical resistance against nitric acid.  Manufacturers use 430SS housing with Elan 13 or 48 and alloy 52 pins to produce durable compression seals.  Others have used 430SS pins and housings with Elan 46 glass/ceramic preforms to create high expansion match seals.
